I have a drink drive conviction on my licence, do I have to make my new employer aware if I get a job as a rep |
I have already worked for a company & they said so long as it was over 3 years old it was fine, I just wondered if anyone knew where I stood legally. They have asked if I have a full UK licence which i have said yes, but surely they would ask about convictions before employing someone? Just worried if I accept a job & then they say we cant emply you because of this reason. Please help, & i would never drink & drive again. If it is over three years old you don't need to tell them unless its on the job application asking for convictions of longer years. not 100% but if i was you i would tell them the situation as if they checked up and you lied then you dont really stand a chance. Only if they ask. Number one I assume this is driving job, but if it is most companies have a policy of how many tickets accidents or violations you can have before they will take action. So I would check the company polices. If they bothered to look at your licence they would see for themselves. You can't be held responsable for their incompetence. you ought to think of it before you took the wheels! I don't know about where you are, but here in Canada, drunk driving is a criminal offence, which means you get a criminal record. And every employer aks if you have a criminal record.... So... find out if it's a criminal record where you are... |
