I got a DUI a little over 3 years ago, It was deffered (It didnt go on my criminal record) but it went on my driving record. How far back can employers check? I already started flying now and I have about 30 hours, I'm not sure if i should even continue getting my ratings if I cant get employed.
If you have a criminal record, I doubt that you can get a job as a pilot. If you are up front about the DUI in the interview, and tell the employer how long ago it was, then you can ask them about the possibility of getting a job.
Which ever company you apply to, the FAA will do an extensive 10 year background check. If you were to level with your potential employer about the terms of your arrest, it would look better on your part than for them to find that information and question your integrity on it.
