Can someone get sacked from a job?

if he's sick, and has always put in his sick note on time?

yes
Yes, you can be terminated for excess absences, valid or not.
Yes, if you put in one too many sick notes.
I believe they can yes. If they're not fulfilling their 'contractual obligation' to the company. They should have warnings, verbal and then written about their levels of sickness. It depends on the nature of the sickness also, for eg, if someone kept having 2 - 3 days off due to 'diarrhoea' or 'sickness' or 'dizzyness' etc, nothing specific, then it could be a problem, but if it's a long-term problem, diagnosed by a Dr with a valid sick note, then they'd struggle to fire them without good cause.
no that's unfair dismissal, go to your local citzens advice bureau to see if you can claim conpensation. However you can only claim if you have been at your job for more than 1 year.
yes. most companies have a pre-determined amount of acceptable sick days an employee is able to receive in a specified amount of time.
probably because he's not coming into work often so its a waste to continue paying him for nothing. Besides, if he keeps getting sick his employers are going to make sure that he's not faking them out so they'll be a little suspicious if he's not
