How to deal when working for a lawyer who's an asshole? |
After starting work for a private firm for one lawyer as his paralegal two weeks ago, I find himself yelling at me for little petty things. Although I can handle it, I find myself mentally drained and depressed that I can't get things done right. I don't know why I have a lack of concentration. Does any one have any advice with dealing with an asshole boss? Because I do like him yelling in a way, it is a form of discipline...but it really "F"s me up. Honestly? Yell back at him.. it's the only thing asshole arrogant lawyers respect, is someone with bigger balls than they have. If he fires you, no loss! Source(s): I'm a criminal defense attorney, I deal with these bastards all the time, and don't put up with a second of their ****! id find a new job. if you like being yelled at, then youre strange, do you mean to tell me that lawyers are a-holes? i always thought they were great people and little birds came and sat on there shoulders to sing for them and them only. can you tell i hate lawyers? No one needs to be abused all day long. It will mess you up in the long term. I'd yell back and probably get myself fired, but it might be worth it. Talk to him or find a new job. Sorry you are dealing with this issue. You will be stronger for it but you don't want to hang around this environment for too long. It will take away your bliss. Go into with knowing that you will be the victor in the end. Use the law of attraction to lead you to the people and events that will put in in the right place to be considered for something else.
