Applying for job question!!!? |
I applied for some jobs, at least 7, in the past two weeks. i know they are all hiring, and need it bad, but i have not heard from a single one. Some told me that they started looking at applications last Tuesday and some told me they started looking them this past thursday. i have not heard from a single one. Does that mean i didn't get it, or they just have not gotton to me yet? hi. be patient -its true some people start looking at the files at most after two weeks or more especially if the position is not exactly to be filled immediately, you are on the right track, calling up their HR. Do call them once a week at least and not more than that, so that they will know you are still interested. in the meantime, hunt for more jobs. you'll be surprised that one day, you cant keep up with the calls of interview dates.. Follow up with a phone call letting them know that you dropped off an application, and are just checking in to let them know you are still interested. Next time you drop one off, don't just give it to some schmuck at the counter. Ask to speak to a supervisor or manager, and give your application to them, and tell them something about what you would bring to the company, or what about the company brought you in. If there is a place on the application where it's sort of a short essay question, fill it out! Most places know that if you don't bother with it, you are just carpet bombing the area looking for ANY job, and don't have any REAL interest in their company, and will put your application straight into the "file." Bottom line, act like you want the job. it dusnt mean that u arnt hired they prolly havnt gotten tu u yet or they're thnkin bout it 鈾峄?膼脿o鈾? Right now in most job situations, it's the people doing the hiring who have the upper hand, because even mininum-wage job openings might bring in hundreds of applications. If it's only been a week or two weeks I wouldn't start to worry yet. They probably haven't even had a chance to get through the initial process of screening the applications. However.........I've taught some classes on resume skills, and one of the easiest things you can do to set yourself apart from the crowd is to make sure your spelling is impeccable. If they get 200 applications, the first thing they're going to want to do is weed some of them out to make the screening process easier, and they'll start by "round-filing" all the ones with spelling errors. I noticed you spelled "gotten" as "gotton." I don't mean to be nit-picky, but on job applications you have to be. Make sure to double- and triple-check your spelling and neatness and have someone else review it for you too. Good luck!! Thats happend to me before to where it took them close to 3 weeks to call me for an interview. I know from my work now that sometimes they just get so many application to look at it takes them awhile to go threw them check everything out. So I would call them if I where you to say you are checking on the status of your application and they will keep note of that so that way they know you really want the job there always a plus. But this does not mean you are not going to get hired to just give them some time and hope for the best. Good luck You should be calling them to show ur intrested start calling!oh yea make sure when u call to either ask for the hiring manager store manager or HR deparment. |
