First Interview of my life! For an retail sales postition. What quiestions do they ask? |
I have a phone interview at 5:00 today and it's for a shoe store at the outlet mall in Marysville. What questions do they ask or what should I not say to them. It is my first interview in my life I'am only 17. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Example of interview questions you may be asked: *Why would you like to work here? *What previous experience do you have? *How would you handle an irate customer? *What would be your initial customer greeting? *Why do you feel you would be a good sales person? *What would help you to improve your skills? *How would you go about creating excellent customer service? *Why have you chosen sales as the career of choice? Good luck on your interview! Source(s): 10 years in sales. Why do you want to work here? What are your goals - 1 year, 5 year? What are your strengths/weaknesses? Do you prefer to work in a team or individually? How would you deal with an unhappy/unsatisfied customer? Just be prepared - have your resume in hand and answer the questions honestly and with a smile - just like you would if you were physically in front of them. Good Luck! here are some questions/guide for the hiring dept which may help you prepare for: > ASK FOR WORK HISTORY - what were the applicant's responsibilities in previous jobs. This will establish your efficiency and skills bec. you are describing actual work experience. > ASK QUESTIONS BASED ON FACTS LISTED ON THEIR RESUME - like skills you possesses to establish level of proficiency in skills mentioned ex if you say you are good in sales, they will ask you to elaborate. this establishes your skills > WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO JOIN THEIR COMPANY? This will show willingness to join the company > WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPT WORK VALUES FOR YOU? - ex are going the extra mile, honesty, teamwork, etc. to check if your values are aligned to their values > ASK QUESTIONS WITH PARTICULAR SITUATIONS: - if you were dealing with a difficult customer, what will you do? - if you have a difficult co-worker? - if the boss asks you to do some extra job beyond your job description? this questions will establish how you will react in different real work situations. > FINAL QUESTION WILL BE WHAT SALARY YOU EXPECTS, and maybe add what other compensations. This is impt bec. you have a salary in mind and you can mentally check how far off your expectations are vs thier offer. lastly, just be comfortable and relaxed write down possible questions beforehand so you can think of the answers ahead of time, have a pen and pad ready so you can take notes |
