Becoming an insurance broker?

Hi, I've tried to look into this career for a while now and have struggled to find much detailed information and have a few questions I would appreciate to be answered.
Firstly what are the employment opportunities within this industry, is it likely that I can get a job with a business degree, otherwise which degree is best to choose and what are the chances of getting a job after e.g. as a graduate with no sales experience.
Also what are salaries like as a good broker for a large firm.
Lastly what is the general perception of this career as I am definitely looking to move into sales but am not totally sure about how lucrative this career would be compared mine now as a financial adviser.

Any info is really appreciated

being an insurance broker is no different for any other line of sales.. you have to sell, to sell you have to have customers, to have customers you have to have marketing. You can become an independant insurance broker and represent as many companies as you wish.. you will receive a commission from each policy sold.. you are required to have an insurance license from your state.. You have to really love insurace and be good at it or you will be disappointed with the income and the level of effort.. I would think that you would want to specialize in some niche of the market.. business, health, auto, life, etc. If you have a degree, I suggest you contact the larger companies and try to work youself into what you already know..finanancial management.. start there and then go forward.. secure your income first.. then expand..
go one step further and become a site comparison website...
