I am considering a job with nearly 100% international travel. The job does not pay for meals.?

I am not independently wealthy so how can I eat for cheap without eating out all the time? Is there someone out there who does this and how do you cope with tight airline/hotel/car schedules and still feed yourself? Thanks a bunch!!!!

I haven't traveled internationally for business, but I did for about 2 months for school. I was given a 'ration' of 100euros a week for food and was able to eat plus have enough to buy other things.

Some things I did:
-Utilize the free breakfasts at the hotels that had them (sometimes I'd grab an extra piece of fruit or pastry to take with me for a snack or small lunch)
-Go stand-up quick lunch places (they're all over Europe) where you can get cheap pizza, crepes (France), cheese pies (Greece), gyros, bratwursts, etc...
-Go to the supermarket if you can find one and have the time. Deli breads tend to be cheap, as do veggies and wine. Throw some cheese on the bread with the veggies and you've got yourself a fresh, healthy (and fairly inexpensive) dinner, and maybe even lunch the next day.
-Eating dinner out though doesn't have to be expensive, but I wouldn't make a habit of it. Hotel desk clerks can give you some good advice about places if you just ask.
-On the days where travel was very tight, you just have to grab something when you can. Of course the airports, metro and train stations will have food, but unfortunately it tends to be more expensive.

Hope this helped a little. Good luck!

(ps - are they still hiring?)
I am working in a job with 50% international travel but the company pays for all meals.
if you have to pay for meals, then restaurants and hotel room service won't be possible.
I suggest that you find sandwich shops/supermarkets in each city you go to.
Also, try and arrange flights so that you get dinner served on the plane which otherwise can get very expensive. If this is not possible, then try and eat at the airport.
