i got this job about a wk ago & was hired by regional mgr. (retail). i think i have the highst hrly pay. my mgr (store mgr) is 35 yr old man & marrid w/2 kids. one 30 yr old woman and two 19 yr old boy a girl(employees) the girl is young and pretty and i think she likes the mgr and vice versa . anyway we're going to have an inventory on this sunday. at 1st i was schedule to go in at 6 am with other 3 people(not the young girl)& some from corporate, & i was so excited about it cuase it's kinda difficult job to do & it's 1 1/2 pay. i felt confident about it. but today i saw the revised schedule & realized that he has me off & put her (19 yr old) on instead. this was inven is important to me to learn cause i am hired as a mgr in training, cause the mgr now is not going to stay for too long. i'm wonder what's going on. why her who was only hired a week before me w/no experience and me w/13 yrs exp. so what should i do, should i mention it to him or just let it go? i think he's favering her it could be that he wants you not there for a reason, I have worked alot of management jobs and things like this sometimes stress you out when there is nothing to really worry about, maybe he knew it was a crappy day to work and thought why make you do it when the girl can do it. I would say just don't get stressed out on this, go with the flow and see what happens, mention it to him and see what he says if you want but don't get overly concerned. Just say something to him like "Uh i am a little confused, I thought I had to work for inventory on Sunday, when I looked again I saw ___ (19 yr old) is working and not me..., what happend?" Then he'll have to come up with an answer, you should be able to tell if he is lying pretty easy..he might stutter or something...then decide if you want to report it or not. hate to say it but there is favouritism in every workplace and it really sucks. I would say nothing for now as you are new but if you see favouritism again then say something but this might just be a one-off. |
