Honest opions.. do you think this is a good idea? |
i got this idea because my bf and daughter always complain about the sun coming in the windows in the morning.. acutally my bf came up with the idea he said he could tint the window like a car if he knew how.. so i was thinking about both of us taking a class on window tinting.. if one is avaible.. and startind a home window tinting business..what do you think would you hire someone to do that The window film business has been around for 40 years and Florida is the state with the most need and not surprisingly the most competition. There are 2000 window film companies at last count, many focus on cars, some do homes and cars and some just homes. Several window film brands and quality of film types are across the board from dyed junk to state o the art ceramic films. The cost of entry may be low , but to be a success you need the tools, marketing, skills, since the consumer expects superior craftsmanship. Dealers come and go . .even experienced folks go under. Nevertheless if someone has passion for success, and is dedicated to meeting and exceeding customer requirements, and you have a market that is interested in solving the issues you resolve. .well who knows?? Otherwise, why wouldnt someone just get blinds or shutters? Lots of companies do this, just do a search on yahoo for the phrase "home window tinting " and you will see some of the companies and suppliers already involved. I would work for someone else for 3-6 months and learn everything you can about what they do, how they do it, contracts, sales, marketing, etc and then give the business a shot on a part time basis to start. The main thing is sales for any business - can you get the clients?? |
