Can recruiting for an agency lead to a career in HR?

I'm looking to transition into a role as a corporate recruiter or benefits administrator. I have two years of recruiting experience with a leading agency. If anybody has experience with this transition I would appreciate any tips. Thank you!

Experience as a recruiter can be useful when applying for a position as a corporate recruiter. Most of the skills used will directly transfer. It is inaccurate to state that ANY job can lead to ANY career. You of all people should know that companies hire people, not resumes.
