I have 1 years worth of experience in the auto insurance field, but my company sold out to another company which put me out of a job. I work at a high interest loan company now, where I have to call and harass people, and repo cars. This is NOT the job for me, but I cant seem to find anything in my area in (auto) insurance. I have been on Monster.com and Careerbuilder, and I cant find anything in insurance that would fit for me. Please help!!!
Yes, I have a few suggestions for you Sir, one if it is ok by your old insurance company go through your old record accounts a licensed agent such as you in most states keep records for up to three years, use them to build a customer base. You'll need this for latter. If your license is still valid then go to Primerica they sell auto products, and they will train you as you get paid on the leads u have from your old job. Legally you may not do this but since they went out of business their backer may have went with them. All insurance companies have a underwriter either internal or external who carries the risk. Like Allstate now has several underwriters, that's how they are able to take the risks from such a wide risk base. Primerica allows any person out there to come in and own there own business and they even train you to do it. Primerica is out there for them they'll be trying to get you to sell life products witch is cool but, if you use your car insurance contacts you'll probably be able to make ends meat. If your serious look one in your area their everywhere Canada and even in Greece, US too. Keep your licenses and don't be afraid. Run the numbers you'll see.
Keep your night job while you transfer over from night to day.
It is hard work, the week need not apply.
