What to wear to a department store interview? |
I applied for a Cosmetic Sales position at Elder Beerman and I have an interview tomorrow. What should I wear? You can never go wrong with a classic black suit, but add some style and edge to it with a funky shirt underneath, fun jewlery and funky colored heels. You don't want to be too trendy becuase that can reflect unreliability. Mix classic and modern that is always the safest route. Also, never assume the position isn't worthy of a suit, always treat the job you are interviewing for like it is the most important job of your life. You want to portray confidence, as well as maturity, and respect for the company. If you don't have a black suit you can get one inexpensive at Target, dots, fashion bug, or even TJ Max or Kohls. Good Luck! See what other sales woman are wearing at the store prior to the interview, and base your outfit off that. I suggest professional yet stylish. Good luck! Dress pants and a nice shirt. That's what the people who work in the cosmetic dept. of stores usually wear, right? Something you bought in that store. Something conservative and fairly dressy - and pay special attention to your makeup. The first thing they will look at is how you have applied your own make up and what choices you have made. Dress nice, wear some nice slacks, a nice blouse and a blazer, but that's optional. What do you think you should wear? It's an interview??? Dress up...but conservative. Skirt (not short) heels, make up etc. |
