Sales representative question? |
Hi everyone, i am a sales person just new to it and i wanted to know how i can get people to do my presentations. asin people that i don't know.... When you contact the customer for the first time, or "cold call" your main (and only) objective is to schedule an appointment. That means be a little wary about sending out brochures in advance and don't give them you're entire sales pitch over the phone. If they already have the information on your company's products and services, why do they need to meet with you? You are a much, much more effective salesperson in person, than any small brochure is. Always say to the person, "All I'm asking for is 10 minutes of your time, believe me, I would not be wasting your time or mine if I didn't know for a fact that I could help you!" Another comment when someone is pressed for time is, "All I'm asking for is 10 minutes, I'll even bring in a stopwatch, and you can time me." This reinforces that you respect that person's time. One small technique that is recommended is to directly ask for an appointment at a certain time. Instead of saying, "Would there be a chance to meet with you sometime next week?," say, "Would next week on Tuesday at 10:30 be a good time to meet?" Take the iniative. Be the aggressor. Good luck! Source(s): 10 years in sales. You want people to do your presentations? As in present your presentations... or see your presentation? If you want them to see your presentation - it is called cold calls. You need to start dialin for dollars - and say something persuasive to get them to want to come. You can also advertise your presentation... or ask everyone you know to refer you to 3 friends and always ask for referrals. when someone sees a salesman they think "he is going to take up my time and my money"..you have to not make a sales call but make a call to help them with their business. Find out why they need your product, then approach them with an answer to their need.(a solution to their problem) all businesses have needs and they are always looking for solutions....they may not see your product as the solution it is your job to show them it is! |
