How is HRM (human resource management) as a career options? please give me details about this profession? HRM is a great career choice if: -you can flex between strategic and tactical objectives -you are able to handle a lot of variety - every day is different -you have good interpersonal skills and can handle a variety of employee issues and concerns. It can be interesting, and there are a lot of job opportunities. On a day-to-day basis, you're spending a lot of time filling out forms. When new employees come in, you need to fill out payment authorizations, assemble an entry packet, schedule pre-employment screenings, enroll them in benefits, provide their orientation, answer their questions, etc. You would be putting together job ads, reviewing applications, assisting with interviews, maintaining employee files, doing the legwork when someone wants to change their benefits or transfer, etc, etc. You would be involved in grievances, workers comp claims, unemployment claims, retirement, pension administration, and sometimes even work-related litigation. You may develop and implement personnel policies, and make sure other administrators are following all the rules (OSHA, affirmative action, discrimination, ...)
