Marketing or computer science? |
I'm in my second year in college to be sincere I haven't taken any classes towards my major yet. For this reason I've been thinking if I should study CS which was my first option or Marketing. I've been having second thoughts lately about which career to choose. The reason for this is that I really like the "Entertainment Industry" and by choosing Marketing should be easier to pursue it while Computer Science has nothing to do with the industry. I've always dreamed of working in a big and recognized corporation (IBM, google, NBC, ABC). Please help me make my final decision and which major to choose. I know there's alway graduate school but still. By the way...how hard is it to find a job in the entertainment industry? PLEASE HELP! Computer jobs were listed recently as the career field that is expanding the most and predicted to be growing over the next 15-20 years. I would stick with that. Plus, this is a great way to go if you want to work at IBM. Good luck! Source(s): 10 years in sales. You could study CS and learn computer graphics and animations and go work for Industrial Light and Magic or Pixar. A job in the entertainment industry is very vague, Information on the following occupations found in arts, entertainment, and recreation appears in the 2006-07 Occupational Outlook Handbook: Actors, producers, and directors Archivists, curators, and museum technicians Athletes, coaches, umpires, and related workers Broadcast and sound engineering technicians and radio operators Dancers and choreographers Fitness workers Gaming cage workers Gaming services occupations Grounds maintenance workers Musicians, singers, and related workers Recreation workers Security guards and gaming surveillance officers maybe you should look thru the BLS Career guide and their occupational outlook before you make a decision Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, Career Guide to Industries, 2006-07 Edition, Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation, on the Internet at http://www.bls.gov/oco/cg/cgs031.htm...
