When your in outside sales, and you have to do call backs is it best to leave a message or call back?

When you have a list of people you need to call back and some don't answer is it best to leave a message on there voice mail or call back and see if you can catch them. (this is for outside sales jobs)

You really need to gauge the situation and see if leaving messages is reasonable.

For instance, in my field of sales, many of my customers are on the run as much as I am. It is very often I have to leave them messages to return a call. A couple of them even prefer text messages! So just feel out the type of sale and type of customer to see what will work best. Source(s): 10 years in sales.
