door to door sales is a tough gig. im having trouble closing. id love to hear from someone who has been successful in door to door sales some key points on getting their interest when they first open the door, and closing when they say 'thanks ill think about it'.. and do you know any good books on the matter...?

I have some experience selling door to door but that was about 40 years ago. Times have changed but the art of selling has not. Door to door selling is really tough. What you can do is ask your customers in the area to give you a recommendation or to refer you to prospective customers. This way, it is no longer a cold call.
