Should you schmooze with your co-worker who is at your same level? |
Well, this guy and me went to the same Grad School 4 years ago. After we graduated we worked for different companies but now we both have landed jobs in the same company. He is that kind of a guy who always wants to be the center of attention and he just dosent care about other co-workers. I have seen him getting jealous and he always thinks and talks about himself. It is getting to a point that I am getting jealous. This is because he just walks around the office doing nothing but talking and everybody else ends up doing the paper work. As a matter of fact my Boss is entertaining this and he is ok with it. I dont know how to handle this situation. Any Advice? Just do your best at your job and ignore him. Make sure you keep a record of what you accomplish on a daily basis and summarize this and hand it in to your boss under the title "accomplishments" at the time of your personnel review. In the meantime, as long as he isn't trying to bad mouth anyone, it is best to let him be and ignore him as much as you can. N O !!!!!! I think you should let him know that he needs to work and do his job like everyone else. If your boss is ok with it, that's not good. Maybe the owner of the company should talk to the boss. Good luck :) change depts if possible. it seems you boss loves to get inside information from a fellow employee. perhaps that is what is happening here. Time to move on to another job. Sounds like my brother... self-centered, always gotta be the center of attention, always thinks he is right about everything. I'm not jealous, so I tolerate it as best I can and, like others, can see through him . Sounds like your boss isn't so good at reading people. Just try to put up with him, sooner or later he'll be found out and chances are others are already aware. . . dang, this sounds like a t.v. show i saw a couple of years back. you had some co-workers that wanted to up-throw the head anchor to elevate their own careers only to have the schemes blow back at them in the face.heck, write this stuff down and maybe you can introduce a new sitcom and make a billion bucks, and leave this hell hole job. troll. |
