How much do you make per hour working as a sales associate in the Queens Center Mall (NYC)?

I know this may be an offending or inappropriate question for some people but I am genuinely curious how much I would be able to make per hour. Also would there be a difference in the wage working for Forever 21 compared to Armani Exchange?
The reason for my asking is because I am hoping to apply for a job at the mall and I am unsure how much I should put down for "desired wage". I don't want to write down too much and turn off employers but neither do I want to write too little and cheat myself. Thank you for all your help! =)

Typically retail jobs will pay you minimum wage or just slightly more. Some companies will offer bonuses based on sales.

Check with each employer you're interested in and see which offers the best pay. Ask in a polite way and nobody will be offended. Source(s): 10 years in sales.
