New job, Commision of 25% per sale - Any good??

I am a sales agent and have recently been talking to a company called Local Heat, they are looking for agents to introduce companies to there advertising packages ranging from 拢15 - 拢99 pm

The ad packages they have are really good value and i havent seen any one else on the market that is offering both consumers and business this level of technology and usability!

As they are a new company they arnt offering a basic wage, what they are offering is for every business introduced and signed up to the advertising packages i get 25% of the fee on a monthly basis whilst ever there contract runs. The minimum contract is 12 months.

a few qucik calculations if i get 400 businesses in any given area across the UK on the 拢25 pm pack i will end up earning 拢30k

Is this a good deal?

No it's not a good idea. As you've already been told, you need a basic wage, and if you're working solely on commission, you're going to be a real pain in the bum for anybody foolish enough to let you get your foot in the door because they'll never be able to get rid of you ! ! !
No.

You need a guaranteed minimum income.

Straight commission contracts are exploiting you.
If I am honest, I would run a mile from an 'employer' that only pays me when I sell. This will only work for you if your are totally outgoing, a high achiever, hungry for success, a great communicator and prepared to sell, sell, sell! I don't believe anyone stays with a business like this ... the company knows this and they only pay out when they gain, the commitment to you is nil. If you are currently seeking work, you have nothing to lose in trying this but don't be swayed by big returns. At least it will be constructive experience and may lead to better things. But do remember that we are in difficult financial times and advertising is not always a priority. However, if you can sell igloos to eskimos and you have time on your hands, give it a try!
Sounds like not a bad deal but I offer 55% on all sales!!! Hows that? 拢30,000 easily possible.
Those who say no basic - no job aren't sales people they are order takers!!! A business cannot employ sales staff that dont work. If you do work the reward will be greater if there is no basic because the employer has less costs. As for investment in staff well my experience tells me lots of people ain't worth investing in because they have been brought up through a system of education that doesnt reflect the real world
Life time in business
To get the sales you want you would have to talk to the owner of the company or director, they are never available. Are you sure you will be able to reach the target? I don't think so, most of the companies that you will be selling to will tell you that if they wanted this product they would call the company themselves. It is a very hard area to work in and I would not work on commission only, my company does that for the sales reps promising that they can get certain sales each week, some weeks they work all day 7 days a week using their own car and petrol and get nothing at the end of it.
