First of all - be very cautious about clicking on the links provided in some of the answers - they are referral links which means they get paid for what you do. They are not really interested in answering your question or helping you out - they are interested only in making money off you.

Most people who work at home and are successful are doing one of two things - getting paid a commission on everyone they convince to join the program (also known as MLM or pyramid plans) OR they have their own business. Your own business is something you create yourself, not find on the internet. You create it based on your skills, your passions not on what someone else tells you is the GREATEST thing going.
Free and safe in this field, these two words do not go together. Just be sure anything you do pay is guaranteed. Jennifer
98% of work from home jobs are scams!!!

Work-at-Home ads/surveys/stuffing envelopes/data entry/typing/get paid to read emails/view ads/assembling stuff usually don't pay off. Be especially wary of ads that promise huge annual salaries; they often require expensive upfront fees with no guarantee. You risk losing your money and wasting a lot of time and energy.
If it's a work at home JOB, then of course you don't have to pay. If it's a work at home BUSINESS< of course you'll have to invest something. Businesses have a startup cost.
I'm into the WAH business but I'm not allowed to post here.
However I accept PMs.
Hope these job websites can help you.

Typically with these questions, all you get is spam (and I get thumbs down from the spammers). There are telecommuting jobs that some major companies offer, if that's what you're looking for, but you'll only find them through a traditional employer. There are also the "envelope stuffing" companies, but they pay VERY little...if at all.

I can't say if ALL of these online jobs are scams or not, but it seems like every one I've tried ended up either wanting money up front (which legit jobs NEVER ask for) or they end up never paying for services rendered.

**In fact, I got a check a month or so ago from one of the survey companies I tried a while back. Upon cashing it at the bank, it was linked to a FRAUD ALERT and they would not cash the check!!!**

Proceed with caution with these jobs and if you don't want to do 9-5, consider other unique possibilities. Maybe you could clean houses (which can pay upwards of $60-$100 daily), babysit/pet sit, do lawn maintenance, or other jobs out of your home. My 16-year-old nephew even started a graphic design business out of his house for local small businesses and makes pretty decent money.

The great thing is these jobs pay cash up front and give you a flexible schedule. This will allow you to keep traditional employment simultaneously, if you choose. Network with your family, friends, and neighbors and you'll have work lined up in no time.

Think outside the box and you'll make it happen! Good luck!!
A decade in sales... and I've been there, done that.
