Pharmaceutical rep ... is it a good job??


I was wondering what the day to day duties of a pharmaceutical rep are. What are the pro's and cons of job and how good is the money!!

First of all you must be able to understand the medical profession and the pharmaceutical terminology used. They used to hire dropouts from medical or nursing courses for this job. I don't know now.

Secondly, you must have good social skills and be trainable as a sales person. Detailing is really selling.

The remuneration package is good. 100-150K per annum.

yes, stay sharp, clean cut, and know your product well.
You will walk door to door from dr's office to dr's office trying to see the manager. You will drop off samples and try to get orders. Lots of walking and neglect. Pay off is good if you can score. If you can't take rejection, look someplace else.
