What if you have a psychology degree but are currently taking marketing course? |
is it silly or will it help in future? Nothing wrong with it. You just decided to go a different direction in life. Psychology is a strange thing. I know about four people in my life that have psychology degrees and only one of them is actually pursuing it further. The other three are a chef, a telemarketer, and an accountant. And now you! There's just something about psychology... Not bad, You will have the opportunity to look for work in both the fields. Something most people don't realize is that after you graduate, most people get jobs in completely unrelated fields. I worked in supply chain and my boss had a degree in forestry. Lots of people had random degrees, companies are just looking for a piece of paper that says you invested 4 years of your life into something and you completed your degree. Shows dedication, that's all. I think its a good idea and you will probably get alot out of it. Successful people in all walks of life have a certain level of sales or marketing ability. No matter what you do or how good you are at it, you will always get paid more if you sell yourself. If you have a psychology degree, you should have already known that psychology is a part of our life. I have psychology as a subject even though my course is information technology. So far I learned a lot from my professor. I also learned that it is needed so that we can encounter people around us with confidence and determine what they feel from their actions. From psychology i learned what is normal, right and many other stuff. Your friends, parents, siblings, other relatives and you may benefit from your knowledge. I just believe that we need to learn psychology the same way we need math, science and history. And by the way, psychology is a science. Your marketing skills may also improve because you know how people think. I also have a psychology degree, but I work in sales. While I'm not a practicing therapist, I do feel the degree helps me considerably in my daily life. If you're heading in a marketing direction and are taking a few courses on the way, it will provide you with a good head start in your career. A decade in sales. |
