What type of careers can I do with a Degree in Marketing?

I hate to make it sounds simple, work in Marketing. If Marketing is your passion, make it your passion. I work in the Marketing organization of a Fortune 500 company and I love it. I did my undergrad and grad in Marketing because I simply enjoy it. I've work for this company for 7 years and I have done so many different things - run a project, introduce a new product, launch an ad campaign, start a new program, etc. The fun never stops. And you can combine your passion with Marketing also. Like Sports and Marketing, do Sports Marketing. Like IT and Marketing, there are a lot of companies who love to have someone in Marketing know how to talk to those guys in IT. Love the web, where can I begin? All those sites do not manage themselves - I am not talking about managing to make sure all the sites are up but someone has to decide how the ad, copy, etc looks like. Sure, you can pay someone to do that but someone has to be in charge of the project from the company.

There are a lot of companies out there that have large marketing departments. Somebody need to come up with new products and how to introduce them to the market, how to reposition a current product or how to improve the company's brand. And there's event marketing of course, done that too, somebody needs to plan booths at convention.

There's always Sales if you enjoy that. It's a good way to start with a lot of companies since it will give you a good view of what products are in the market, how the customers thinks, etc. We love hiring people with Marketing degree and Sales background within our company to join our team.
You can go into sales.
You can work in finance. Marketing is a tough field. It really depends on what you want to do.
I majored in Marketing and I kind of regret it, to tell the truth.
I should have went into pharmacy because that is my love.
I'm working on an MBA/Accounting so I can get into accounting. It's hard to find a good marketing job. You have to have creative talent and be an excellent networker.
I think you should figure out what you want to do first and then find out what skills/education you need. Check out the jobs pages and see what is out there and what education/skills are needed. Talk to people in different careers. Try to get a feel for what the day to day is like.
You can check out the American Marketing Association's web site. www.marketingpower.com
There is a Business Marketing Association club as well.
You could work in public relations. You could get into tradeshow marketing.
But I have found that marketing, a lot of it is broken up and is handled by upper management.
