Question??? |
So, I've been with the current company for almost 2 yrs now. Initially i was hired as Admin & Accounting Assistant. Then a marketing coordinator was let go and all of those duties came to me. I already had enough to do and with that was simply swamped and still am. I overheard a conv. where my boss talked to the head marketing guy explaining that i was brought on to help them with accounting/admin and that she would like me to do that versus help with marketing. Now, they are asking a list of all marketing duties that i do and my resume. BTW, company is growing and they have been mentioning that they need a marketing support person. The Sales Director is really happy with my work and likes me a lot and so does the rest of the Sales people. Does this mean a potential promotion, or? What are your thoughts? It probably won't mean a potential promotion unless you convey to the management staff of your interest in taking on additional responsibility and your interest in the marketing area. They are probably having you make a list to see where you spend your time and how much of each area you are actually working on. This could simply be a way for the managers to take items you have been working on and reallocate them to other members of the staff. In short, it might be a way to adjust some of your responsibility away from you. If you don't say anything to anyone about your interests, the decision could/will be made without your input. |
