Sugar, with the foreign car market overtaking us, the US, at the 50% mark of the US automotive sales, the old guys that are manning the chairs in those dealership sales offices aren't going to be willing to give them up for any 19-yr old whipper-snapper. Your only hope is to start out at some out-of-the-way used car lot.

Let me introduce you to a terminology that will hound you in days later on--the law of large numbers. Big Business hires (oh, excuse me--contracts) people to sit at their site to sell their product without paying them. They don't pay them on an hourly basis because they are on commission; so if they fill enough chairs and there are enough sales during the day to pay overhead, welluh--large enough number of sales people, large number of sales--the law of large numbers. You become just a number. If you're good, you're good; if you're not, you're just another statistic.

Judging from your name, you sound like you love cars. I bet you could put your mind to some inventive ideas that could put you at the cutting edge of some innovative realms of automotive technologies. My son was an automotive nut and wanted to be a race car driver. He started in the parts department of a dealership that sponsored race cars and spent a great deal of time in the service department--well you get my drift. Fortunately for me, he went on to different aspirations.

I wish you well with your future endeavors.
No. In general 19 year olds don't know how to lie, cheat and steal well enough to be a car salesman.
Yes! This may not be a major car dealership, unless you tell them you are attending college for business. Employers want employees to make their business look great. Employers love to hear the word college.Best Wishes!
No, i dont think so. i think 19 years old isnt enough experince in that type of job
Sure, at that age they can train you to lie, and usually young people do not understand the consequences of being dishonest.
No, most states require salesmen to be 21 or older, and a salesman needs to be bonded. Some states such as Colorado will allow a salesman to be 18, but they must be a member of the owners family.
If you have the look (a nice suit) and the personality. You need to be able to read customers, be friendly and outgoing and willing to learn the job from experienced co-workers.
I don't think anyone would have a problem hiring you if you have a winning personality and extensive knowledge about the vehicles!
Best Wishes!
