Choosing a marketing career?

I've been thinking for a while about going into this field, but I would like to talk, I mean really talk to people who have worked in marketing. I'd be willing to talk over email, aim, msn, or even here

Some questions I'd like to be answered:
-What is a typical day like for you?
-Was it difficult to find a job in this field? How competitive was it?
-What sort of experience is needed to get a job in marketing/advertising?
-Do you get 'poor pay' 'decent' etc?
-Is this type of job stable, or do I have to worry about job security?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, anyone willing to talk to me activly will be even more appreciated.

I'm sending you to a site that deals mostly with marketing to small businesses. From there you can send me an email and we can exchange war stories.

read some of the business articles, you might get some ideas.
