How do you feel about friendly sales associates in major retail stores who are Muslim and wear face veils? |
Just curious i think those who are not used to it will be uncomfortable but that does not mean we should judge them bec. if you look it thru their eyes, we are making them uncomfortable as well with for them our blatant display of face etc. Just like Asians find some Western ways weird, or just like Westerners find Asian cultures weird as well. The polite thing to do I guess is to be polite and respect other people's beliefs. I'm curious where these stores are. Never seen sales women with veils. Hijab yes, covering their face, no. Personally I would find it odd. I've only talked to a couple women whose faces were covered and it was a bit discomforting, especially the one who interviewed me for a news article. Never seen that before!? If i did, i think it would be a bit awkward to say the least! No offence meant, but its just the way it is and that is why people have been mentioning it. muslims wear face veils because in the quaran it sais to cover up parts of your body and if you dont believe in the quaran go to yahoo and look up miracles of islam and scientific miracles of islam please go to it Well,if they are friendly, I would have no problem with them. As a matter of fact, there's a gas station that I visit regularly that is ran by people of Middle Eastern and Muslim descent and they are the nicest people I know. I think it is inappropriate. They should dress in the same manner as the other employees. If their religion prevents them from adhering to the dress code, then they should not work that job. |
