How to be an effective sales representative? |
hi guys! just like to know your ideas about it. I'm a fresh graduate and luckily got hired in a good call center company. I'm about to start my training for sales representative position. I'm kinda worried, because this would be my first job? and I don't have that much idea on how to be effective on this kind of job. 1. Know it (your product). 2. Believe in it (enough to use it). 3. Believe in yourself. 4. Sell yourself. (Most people buy people before product.) A. Honesty (no false guarantees) B. Follow-up C. Follow-thru (If you say it, do it.) The first 4 will make a shopper into a buyer. The last 2 keep your buyers coming back and referring others. * If you've purchased similar products/services, ask yourself why you did it. * If you haven't made this purchase, would you? (If not, you might want to rethink selling it.) Why? I hope this helps! Congrats on graduating and good luck in ALL your future endeavors. Source(s): I'm a shopper, buyer, and seller!!! actually believe in what you are sellling. smile when talking on the phone - people hear it in your voice. work hard and don't complain. The most affective way to be a sales represenative is to be approachable. Smile, look people in the eye, and when you ask a question LISTEN to their answer. When they ask you a question, don't give them the same old answer everyone else does. Here are a couple of examples... Wrong way: (customer) How are you? (You) Fine thank you, how are you? Right way: (customer) How are you? (You) If I were any better, I would have to be twins, thanks for asking, how about yourself? Little sayings like that sound crazy, and they catch people off guard, they also catch their attention. Also don't be afraid to laugh at yourself. Be honest, tell them if you think something sucks, and offer something better. Good Luck, Jer you should know everything about your product. you'll be trained by the company but it helps to research more about the product, the competition, your product's history, related miscellaneous information. be open-minded and practice interacting with friends and family. it helps to be talkative. always remember to be diplomatic, polite, and clear. being in the sales field is exciting and its an ever-changing environment. good luck! Call center? If it's Convergys run, just RUN!!!!....before they poison your soul. If it's not Convergys or if you choose to stay.... - be on time, be early, never never never be late. - say exactly what they tell you to say. - keep your time between calls to an absolute minimum. - learn to notate DURING the call. - as soon as you get an opportunity to move to any position that is not on the phone, TAKE IT!!! Hi, It is natural to be worried especially when starting in a new environment. I specialise in Sales for a living and run one day seminars for those wishing to go into Sales either from further education or if wishing to change career paths. This is no Sales pitch (excuse the pun!) but this could be beneficial for you, please come back to me if you are interested. If not just remember sales in about communication of which 70% is listening and this is where most sales people fail because they believe it is they who should do all the talking! Good luck. Regards, Guy K |
