What am i doing wrong? |
ok i work part time at the weekend and ive been there for about 10 months. i try really hard to do things right but everything i do seems to be wrong. for example on a saturday morning it can be really quiet and most till staff go off to do other jobs yet when i left it was always me that got called back, even though is 4 other till staff. so now i stay on my till for the whole day. even tho i stay on my till i never get any thanks although there is another girl who stays on the till and everybody seems to like her. if i do any overtime i never get any thanks and i do loads of overtime for them, if anybody else does over time they get loads of thanks. i dont understand why they treat me different when ive been there so long and im always nice to the customers! i do everything im told which is more than some of the other staff! what should i do That other guy that answered looks like a right tosser. Seems to me like you're being walked over and the worst part is that you're letting them do it. nobody thanks a doormat. either change your attitude there and stop pleasing them, unless you're happy to do the overtime, in which case you don't need thanks. also, if you want to get away from your til, just do it. Make sure you do something that's worthwhile so that it's easier to get someone else over when it gets busy again. If they don't, have a word with the supervisor / manager and ask what the problem is. Maybe it's just not the right job for you. life is too short. if you hate it, leave and do something with your life that makes you feel good. Scary but do-able. Anything is if you believe in yourself. Good luck. everything. You are trying to meet you emotional needs through your job. The employee that is not liked always stays and the loved employees get fired cause business loves mediocrity. Quit trying to be a good employee and quit caring what they think about you. Just do the work and go home. Jabs can not meet your emotional need. Thats what YA is for. ****************8 If you start standing up for yourself, you will get canned. Don't waste your energy. Do the job and go home. ****************8 Life is too short to spend it unemployed. You are too emotionaly wraped up in a silly job. Those hours are theirs do it and go home. shore would have been nice if you had of told us what you did so we could have given you some good advice. A lot of it has to do with your acceptance of that treatment. If you do not want to work overtime on your regularly scheduled day/afternoon off, say "no thanks, I have plans." Only you can let people treat you like a doorknob. If you start standing up for yourself, and nothing changes, recommend you get a new job. Yeah, just give a little more info so we can help. Ignore Packinrat, he's an idiot Do you get paid for the overtime? I have been at jobs that pay was the only thanks you got. At one job, we had a 6 month period were busness was higher than any other 12 month period in the company's 50 year history. All we got was a Klondike Bar. It gave a whole new meaning to the slogan, "What would you do for a Klondike Bar?" hi check this link its useful http://workathomedataentrysites.blogspot... . |
