My sales staff cannot co operate, how to get my sales staff to co operate? |
My sales staff cannot co operate, how to get my sales staff to co operate? This is your fault - not theirs. You have created or allowed an environment that makes this ok. I would suggest that this is a basic problem with a basic solution...set expectations and hold people accountable. You can take the 'carrot' or the 'stick' approach. Get concrete examples of the unacceptable behavior and let your team know that it is no longer acceptable. Try some team-building activities if you have the time and follow your company's disciplinary process if the poor behavior continues. Your staff don't need to be best friends, but they do need to work together in a professional manner. You didnt provide much info. But in general, find out why your staff doesnt co-operate. Maybe they have tried it your way already and know it doesnt work. Maybe they need incetives to get motivated. It really depends on what exactly you want their co-operation on. As long as they are selling what they are supposed to sell they are doing their job. You should be asking yourself what YOU did to allow this to happen. You're the manager, and stuff runs downhill. You're only options are higher commissions to co-operate, or fire them all. They aren't cooperative because they have been allowed to act that way. Who allowed it? Have a frank discussion with each one of them and let them know that you feel they have great potential & that you can help them if they are willing to work with you. After that, try communicating "with" them instead of "at" them. If you see that there is one person really disrupting things and lowering morale, put them on warning that you are aware and that it needs to stop or they will be terminated. Sorry, but if it was one employee, I would say that they have the problem. Since it is "them", I would suggest that you look at your leadership skills. I would try to get them to co operate if they didnt I would get somebody new. motivate them. talk to them in a nice manner. do not manipulate them. manipulation is different from motivation. under motivation, you ask them to do something which would accomplish the interests of the firm and their interests. manipulation is asking them to do something which will only benefit the organization. |
