Assessing my career?

I've been working at a publishing company for 4 years now. If you ask me what my role is, I sometimes dont even know. I started out in customer service, then moved into the Higher Education dept. I work in higher ed sales with the marketing dept and product group. I basically provide support...but i feel like it's so much more than that. I've gotten sales experience, i've gotten product/marketing experience, customer service experience, IT/tech experience, ive gotten event planning experience, experience with our finance dept. Yet i still feel sort of like, where do i fit in? When someone asks me, what do you do there? It's just so complicated. My title is sales coordinator. I'm in school for a masters in communications management. I'm worried about where my career is going. I want to make more money, but i only make 44k. I wonder if ill just need to switch companies? I work at a publishing place for a university in boston

I would wait for your Masters -- 44K isn't bad (unless you are in NY, or LA or something) while you are in school.

You have great experience. The current title doesn't matter as much as your experience, and your ability to sell them.

It is likely that you will need to switch jobs once you get your degree. Most businesses won't just up your pay because you have a degree to do the same thing they paid you before you got the degree.
I'd get the masters under my belt before I moved on unless something super comes up first. In the mean time start searching for that perfect job. By the way, most positions that are not outlined in a union contract are difficult to describe and don't often relate to the title.
Finish up school and then switch companies. Your experience in the variety of duties will get you far in the future.
