i have a bachelors degree in management and organizational development. i have 3yrs. supervisory experience but have never actually had a management position. i have 3 yrs of training experience in security and fire protection. any suggestion what kind of job either in management, security, or should i just apply for any management or supervisory position? and considering my degree, what fields would be good? i also have lots of sales experience but never been a sales manager.

If you go to major jobsearch portals, like hotjobs.com, monster.com or careerpath.com, you can go to the 'Advanced Search' page, and enter in the search box "management + organizational development" and select BA under education, add your zip code, and see what jobs pop up. Do the same for various combinations - including security, sales, etc. After a few searches, you'll be able to get a good idea of who is hiring individuals with your experience, and what the jobs entail. Once you have some basic information, you can search for further details on specific jobs at the US Department of Labor website, and look for the Occupational Outlook Handbook. |
