I agree that it's not really "hate" people feel toward a sales person, it's just hard to trust them. I beleive that at one point or another we've all been ripped off by a sales person and we know it so it's just easy to assume they will do it again. If you're looking for a good car sales person though, I know of one here in Grnvl, TN. William Harrison, he works at Lawson's Mt. Mazda, look him up, he'll give you a great deal! Source(s): My husband is a car salesman.
I don't think that "hate" is the best word here. I don't hate car sales people, I simply have a hard time trusting what they say.
Well my husband is in car sale and has been for years. He has a very good reputation. But I do know this the one thing that makes people the maddest is when they go to trade in there car and find out that the last place they went to totally buried them in that vehicle. Car sales men make money off of gross profits so the more they sell the car for the more they make. If you are a car sales man I will tell you don't screw people over. Take smaller commissions you will make more in the long run you will get repeat customers. A good customer is a happy one. I would never do business with anyone again if I found out that I was buried in my vehicle so bad.
I have to agree with the first two posts. I think the image of car sales personnel is one of distrust, coniving, sketchy, and liars. Not all of them are deserving of these labels though. Unfortanetly, car sales commission rely on selling as much as possible, from add-ons not needed to outrageous loan terms. With the power of the internet, do your research on the car you like, loan options, what you can afford vs. what you do and don't need and be up front and open about your demands politely. Take someone with you if you are uncertain on how to negotiate to make sure you are getting what you are paying for and not for things you don't need.
