How do I transition into another work industry?

I've been working in mortgage/real estate since I graduated college. I've done everything from entry level to sales. The real estate market is not doing so well right now and I have no passion for this industry. What is the best way to get my foot in the door with a different industry without having to start off entry level with entry level pay? Thank you.

First of all you need to do the self exam -
What is the industry that fascinates you?
What role do you think you can play for them?
What is in it for the employer?
Are you able to deliver goods?
Why should employer consider you over the other candidates from similar industries?
What is your USP?
Once you have been able to answer these questions, you will be able to get your foot in the desired industry, at the terms suitable to you.
Good luck!!!
Utilize friends, former classmates, personal connections, etc. I had the same thing happen to me a little over a year ago. I went from Sales and Marketing to Event Services. Based on my connections and reccomendations. Good Luck to you!
