How can I recruit more members for my college newspaper? |
I just got a new position on the staff for my school newspaper which actually pays like a job. Part of my job is to recruit new members, so that the editors on staff will have enough writers to do the stories we need to place with the weekly paper. I have a few ideas that I know will work, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how i should go about getting more members for the club when school starts again. I live on a fairly large campus so I would like to have enough ideas to recruit as many people as possible. Thanks in advance! Create a poster to post in the cafeteria or student center, have someone to man a table. On the Poster "How to be a Celeb?" Consider having a sports/drama/science/and etc. writer/celeb for each issue. They can be critics or historians or public(college) interest writers. In college there are lots of people that want special campus recognition. Does your college have a club fair? That could be a way to get the word out to new students entering the school. Also if there was a way that you could set up something at some freshman events? |
