What are the key steps to having a succesful charity fundraising? Yeah your def going to have to have a business plan first. You need to find your targeted audience and build way of marketing this. Even though its a charity it is still a business. Best is to try and get celebrities to donate things for an auction and then have a dinner/auciton. Have a clearly defined mission, explain the use of the money to your donors, create enthusiasm, and advertise heavily. If your mission is a worthy cause then you will raise money. kind of in addition to above... if you're trying to raise money, people need to know the event is happening. Get in touch with the local press and submit a press release to give details (or if you can, get a journalist to take details over the phone or meet you). Invite said journo to event to write it up after. speak to the local big businesses and get them to sponsor various elements, such as the food, or band or donate prizes or services etc. It looks good for them and they'll be happy to be associated with it, meaning their own pr machine will be working on your behalf too. have a great time ;) experience! |
