O.K. Say I land a job as a counsultant(marketing). I help out the business..NOW..HERE'S MY QUESTION...How can I figure out how much money I have made the company as a direct resultof me working with them... If I can't tell them what I did for them..why would anyone else want to hire me if I have no facticial evidence saying look, I made this company's profits increase by 7%, I can do the same for you..HOW DO i DETERMINE THAT????????????????
Determining how much money you have earned a company is a function of the sales you generated, the price of those sales, the cost of the service or goods, overheads applied and many other items making it very difficult to determine exactly how much was due to your influence.
I would recommend focusing simply on the increase of sales volume. For example, if a companies Internet sale were growing at 10% a year and you were involved in their Internet marketing efforts and it increased 20% then you could claim to have double their internet sales. If instead you are working with particular product lines or particular customers then you will be able to again track increases in sales volume for those products or customers.
