How can you change unfavorable employee Attitude? |
How can you change unfavorable employee Attitude? First, I would put together an employee survey, or evaluate previous employee exit interviews, to see if there are any trends you see in why employees do not like the work environment. This might give you good insights. Employees need to feel that their work and their lives are being respected, and that they are involved. If you are talking about a retail place, well good luck then. Sometimes the employees deal with terrible customers all day and the only satisfaction they get from the job are the perks and pay, so anything you can do to elevate those are preferred. You can set up a system of meetings with employees to get their feedback on certain parts of the job that maybe can be changed. see if anyone has any new ideas about the way things are being done, but be specific. Don't just throw out a general "what should we do" because people won't be willing to stick out their neck. But you could say, "Is there anything we can do to make our yearly inventory easier on the employees and still get it done in time." and see if they have any suggestions or concerns, but do so in a group setting for brainstorming. This I think might drive employees to feel like their ideas are being listened to and that they're part of the job, not just being told what to do all the time. And hey, again, if the pay sucks and the benefits suck, then you ahve your work cut out for you, anything you can think of to give them in perks whether it's free lunches on Friday's or free coffee or accumulated time off or contests to win something will help, but in the long run makes for a lousy business model. It depends on what your definition of "unfavorable" is - if you could provide an example, it might be easier to answer the question. Thanks! floggings work nicely Constantly watch him/her. Act cooly. Make him/her to understand about their mistakes. Speak to them openly in the closed cabin . NOt infront of others. U respect first and heed about their complaints. Assess what made them to create unfavourable admosphere in the office, what made them to behave like that. ......Allow other person to talk freely. You heed constantly what he/she say. Dont answer immediately . Dont interevene while they give statement. After the incident leave two to three days dont talk anything about this to any one. You will have very remarkable expereince. you can certainly find the changes in them. Change my attitude first towards them. Turn the situation around on them. Say something like "It appears to me that something I have done (or the company has done) has made you uncomfortable, what can I (we) do to ensure your comfort with the company". It sounds odd, but it will make them think about their behavior without thinking that you are being negative towards them. Sit and discuss with him ... move closely... do not show managerial behaviour even you are manager. no body will exhibit unfavourable attitude just like that. Know the reason behind it and clarify him. |
