How 2 market business using less than $10 - $0?

Need help from marketing guru out there. Any way to cut on advertising buget yet can generate massive result. All creative idea posted are appreciated. Thank you very much!

1. Answer questions (in forums such as this) that pertain to your field of expertise to get your name out there.

2. Start an e-zine with your existing customers. Never SPAM (it's illegal, not to mention annoying). Get permission to email them. In your e-zine give tips or write articles that give valuable information to your subscribers. Constant Contact allows a free trial period, then it's only $15/mo after that.

3. Give out your biz card and offer something free on the back (sign up for your free e-zine or a free report or even a free inexpensive tool -- perhaps a flash drive w/ your report on it).

4. Get EVERY customer's (or walk-in) e-mail address. Just ASK for it! Tell them you have a free e-newsletter with tips and information about your product/area of expertise. This allows you to keep your name in front of them on a regular basis. Occasionally, offer a special deal, but mostly give them free info and tips. They'll appreciate it and reward you with their business.

5. Always give EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. This really is #1 (and virtually free!). Good news travels fast, and excellent customer service is rare these days.

Don't pay for advertising - pay for results.

Work out the lifetime value of your client ... i.e.- how much does the average person spend with you? How many times do they repurchase each year? How many years do they stay with you?

Using this number, pay people to bring you clients. How much? Well that depends on the number you have. If you know that the lifetime value of your client is $3,000, with the average first sale being $300 - give whoever brings you the client $300 (not in your product - because that's a cop out. Not $300 off your next $1,000 purchase, because that won't work. $300 or 3 x $100 dinner vouchers ... or something - it needs to be real). Because you KNOW that you'll make $2,700 from that client.

This way, advertising doesn't cost you a cent - it is guaranteed only to make you money.
There are a lot of ways to promote your website. Some of these methods are free while other could be at a low cost.
