How much does it cost to ship shoes?


I'm a new ebay seller, I am posting a pair of lightweight shoes, and I have no idea what to charge for shipping?? How do you estimate that before you have an address to actually calculate shipping costs??

there are several types of shipping.
For ground shipping about 5 dollars
For express about 15 dollars
All for 5 pound calculation.

YOu need to know the weight and then add in your estimated cost for packing supplies. It varies by how far it has to travel, too.

You can use the priority mail free flat-rate boxes for $8.95. They also have shoe boxes for free that you can use if they aren't shipping far. If they are lightweight canvas type women's shoes, they will probably weigh slightly over 1 pound, so will ship at the 2 pound rate. If you can round up a free box, you can most likley ship them anywhere in the US (parcel post) for under $6.50.

You can just put in a flat rate to charge for shipping. You may make a nickel on this one, or lose a nickel. It's hit or miss depending on who buys it. Or, you can use the ebay calculator, which requires you to enter the weight when setting up the auction and then each person can see the shipping charge to their area. You can also add a packing/handling fee to that calculator.
Go to www.USPS.com if you are in the U.S. and you can estimate the shipping cost of an item. It makes a difference depending on the size and weight of package and where it is being sent. It will ask you these questions to help you calculate. If you are in a diff. country, try going to the post website.
