I am a telemarketer..any tips for sales? |
I make cold calls and tell people about the company I work for. I don't hate telemarketers, and don't let all the people here that are ripping on you get you down. They don't understand the point of this site... it's not an open forum, if you don't want to answer a question constructively, don't! It's a tough job, and it's not your fault it is the way your company markets, but if it wasn't effective companies wouldn't do it. The advice to smile is great, hard to do sometimes, but important. Above all, learn your script really well. The number one turn-off is sounding like you are reading. Try hard to sound conversational. Picture someone you know on the other end of the line, and talk to them like you would talk to a friend. Good Luck, and don't call me after 7:00 p.m. :-) They biggest problem about telemarketing is that people 'cold' call. Other people might consider your company more if telemarketers talk more like human beings, it's usually hard to tell them apart from a recording machine. Seem enthusiastic about your company, and give them details about it. Keep their interest above all and then try to get them to do whatever that it is your company wants to get them to do. smile, and keep positive attitude. I'm sure that's a very hard job just remember each no means next. good luck Quit. If you can't quit, make sure you never let your children know what you do. Are you sure you can't find a more honorable profession like striptease or something? get a new job, everybody hates telemarketers Make sure you stick to the proper hours for calling! One thing that annoys me is a telemarketer calling at weird hours. Some people work 2nd and sleep during the day, so for these people, they need all the sleep they can get! Find another job. I won't even talk to telemarketers if they call me. And you'll probably find that a lot of folks agree.... if I want to know about or buy something, I'll look for it. I don't want somebody calling me all hours of the day and night offereing me something that I have no interest in. |
