'No purchase necessary' - isn't that a lie in this case? (SUBWAY restaurant contest)? |
I went to SUBWAY restaurant today, they had big display of their current Scrabble game/win prizes contest. Sign said 'NO PURCHASE NECESSARY' I bought a sub and small drink, but didn't get game piece. I asked for one, and was given info on the game, but no game piece. In very fine print, it says I can get free game piece by mailing a self-addressed stamped envelope to SUBWAY game address. Well, that sure sounds like a purchase of 2 stamps and 2 envelopes to me. Doesn't this seem like false advertising to you? This is a good point but this "Scenario" has bee around for a LONG time. Im 28 and I remember when I was 16 and the same thiong happened....wow im getting old. How it works is this. YES you ahve to buy stamps but subway is stating that no purchase of ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS is necessary. By this they get away with the "no purchase necessary" rule . Is it right? No Unfurtunatly thats just the way some things are. Is it fair? NO You make a good point. Yes, You do make a good point, however they mean you don't have to buy Subway products to win. I got a free gamepiece in an ad in the paper. It came with coupons attached for Subway stuff. I didn't have to buy anything. |
