How do I go about pitching an idea to adervetising company? |
I'm kinda curious, how to establlish a connection, pitch an idea, what these companies look for with regards to research type content etc.. Cheers people :) Olgivey, already mentioned is very good. read ogilvy on ogvily this will give you inpiration An advertising company is not like PR. You don't pitch to advertising agencies. You become their client at great cost and they get the public to know about your product/service by designing an advertising campaign for you. This will include newspaper advertising, press conferences, tv and radio time (if you have the money) etc. You don't have to "sell" it to them, they 'sell' it to the public, but of course it helps if they believe in it to start with. All you need do is contact a few to arrange meeting, have all bumph about your company etc get them to devise an advertising campaign within your budget constraints. Advertising agencies come up with their own ideas for their clients, that is what they are paid for. If you have a product and wish to pay them to do an advertising campaign for you with your idea, they will do what they are paid to do. If you are trying to sell ideas to advertising agencies, then you are completely wasting your time and effort. That would be like trying to sell a five pound bag of coal to a coal mine. |
