What becomes of the over 20 MILLION TOYS that are RECALLED?

We know that on August 2, Fisher-Price recalled 1.5 million toyrs due to toxic lead...

And now, Mattel is recalling 20.5 million toys because of small magnets and parts that can be swallowed and containing potentially dangerous high levels of chemicals and toxins.

THE STORY:

So, my QUESTION:
All these toys are pulled back, removed from shelves and basically taken out of circulation...

BUT, what happens to them then?
What about the manufacturing, packaging, and distribution costs that went into the toys....tax write-offs?
Obviously they cannot be reused or redistributed and probably end up in warehouses....so what happens to them?

Inquiring minds want to know.

i would assume they would recycle them if possible, and if not they probably just dispose of them properly.
They should sell them to kids in China.
wanna bet they can't be redistributed...think Africa
