How to find more work as a LAND SURVEYING COMPANY? |
I'm planning to restructure the land surveying company I work at; since the sales are not happening {as in projects}- and we need bigger contracts- more institutional based, more commercial projects. 鈥e don鈥檛 have referrals. 鈥ts mostly repeat clients because we鈥檝e dealt with them in the past and because we might be the cheapest option that could give them 鈥榙ecent鈥?work. 鈥ost of the interested parties are just looking for an updated survey. 鈥ur performances or packages has no U.S.P- 鈥asically for the previous 8 months we鈥檙e just pushing the carts. How can we restructure our marketing to get a new brand image and business. We have 40 plus years of experience but suddenly its not working! DESPERATE NEED OF IDEAS! I can only speak for how it works in NJ, but here is what I think you should do. Make sure you have a current business registration certificate. http://www.state.nj.us/treasury/revenue/... If you qualify (small enough or women or minority owned) Register in your state as an SBE or ESBE. http://www.nj.gov/njbusiness/small/... If you don't have a PLS on staff, hire one, or have someone with a degree take the test. http://www.njspls.org/ After you do those 3 things: Start submitting proposals to local government agencies. Check municipality, county, state and federal websites and subscribe to public notice services. Send a brochure with a personalized letter to every single civil engineering firm in your region. Advertise yourself as an SBE and request meetings with the head of their site development and transportation engineering groups. Trust me, this will get you work. Large companies that go after government contracts almost always need an SBE on their team. Survey is a great task to sub out. Good Luck!!
