One big $100,000 prize or 10 smaller $10,000 prizes, which one motivates people more to participate?

a hope of winning a $100,000 or by increasing their chance of winning a smaller prize.participation needs some efforts but not money.thanks

I would think most people would rather have a bigger chance at a smaller prize. I know I do. You could always do a mix like one $50,000, 4 $10,000, and 10 $1,000 prize. I like them best.
Increasing the odds of winning would be the logical choice, but since the premise is that someone, presumable the reader, is going to win, reality is supended and the reader only wants to know how "big is my prize gong to be?"

So the answer is one big prize with impossibly high odds of winning will work better than several smaller prizes with greater chances of winning.
