Putting flyers in mailboxes...illegal or not? |
Hello, I will be participating in a charitable walk this year and I would like to ask my neighborhood for help with donations. I want to put flyers in mailboxes that list the cause, the website, and that I would be grateful for any donations. I don't know what the rules are with the post office for soliciting. Can I put something like this in mailboxes or does it have to be rubber-banded around the outside? Thanks! It's illegal to put anything except for posted mail in a mailbox. It's a felony offense, because the postal service falls under federal jurisdiction . How about taping flyers to the outside of the mailbox? is that illegal? i dunno, to be safe i would just leave somewhere near their front door illegal. put them on door steps, or stick it in the door, under the door. mailbox = illegal Yes, it's illegal....Place your flyer on the door, between the gate. Never in the mailbox. That could get you fined in mailboxes is illegal. Leave it on their car window. |
