What do you do about telemarketers? |
I try to conduct a trade with them...I tell them that I sell nice, fluffy badgers and that I will buy a years subscription of their newspaper if they agree to buy one of my badgers... I think that's fair, don't you? They usually do something rude and hang up on me... I enjoy goofing on telemarketers immensely. I once told a magazine salesman I couldnt read, but did he have any magazines that were just pictures? I tell mortgage brokers that Patrick wont be home for 4-6 years, given good behavior, for scamming a S&L. I told a chimney sweep I didnt have any chimneys, and when they reminded me that they had cleaned 2 chimneys 3 years before, I told them that was before the explosion. I may try the fluffy badger routine, only with your permission of course. I've learned over more years than I'd care to admit to, that it's not worth my time to deal with telemarketers at all. I used to come up with some excuse why I couldn't talk to them, but now I just politely - well, almost politely - interrupt them and say "thank you but I'm not interested" and hang up. Works great! i hang up. Register on the National Do Not Call list. They won't bother you anymore. |
